Flying a Beach Ball UFO

Recently some NASA Scientists were able to fly a MAV; Micro Air Vehicle using a laser to power it and then chase it around the room with the laser beam? Sounds like kids stuff, yet is has some incredible applications for other things. For instance we could use Whispering Windows and Talking Glass Technologies to propel helium filled beach ball. Here is how I propose we do this. First we put a small whispering windows transducer in the center of the proposed flying beach ball to excite the helium molecules, we then send a directional sound wave (yes this technology exists)

to a crystal shaped receiver in the center of the beach ball which focuses the sound on the transducer, which would vibrate the inside walls of the ball and excite the helium molecules. Just turn it on and allow the beach ball to fly like there is no tomorrow when the directional sound wave is turned off the beach ball slowly floats back to earth until you hit it again with the sound beam.

Why? Well, because you could put a camera on it to view the ground from an aerial view? You could make a largescale version to lift things or transport things. There are endless applications for this. Just like there are endless applications for the Whispering Windows Technologies See Below:

Talking glass, which was featured recently in the famous Tom Cruise Movie “Minority Report” where advertising would spring to life and communicate with the actor; is not new science. In fact it has been around since the 1940’s and some believe that the ghost of Lincoln, which was discussed in the biographies of Richard Nixon as being in the White House when looking at his picture on the wall was Whispering Windows Technology. In other words unfortunately ghosts do not exist in the white house at all. These technologies where called “Terfonal Devices” and were developed by scientists at the University of Iowa and were primarily used to enhance sonar capabilities. Today you can buy a small personal device for your mirror at home to tell you that you look great or use the mirror as a speaker for your favorite music.

The talking glass advertisements to day use “magnetostriction,” that of course being a real fancy name for a hockey puck size transducer unit made of Terfonal-D alloy which is a blend of various rare alloys, which is attached to the flat surface via a small inconspicuous wire. This rapid shape changing attached transducer is then hooked up to an amplifier. This allows the glass to vibrate at up to 20,000 times per second producing sound.

What is interesting is that marketers of retail stores have found ways to hook this to counter tops, tales, windows, mannequins, shelves and even walls. The company which produces this is Entrema Products in Ames, IA;

This is hardly a new science but it could be used for many other purposes as well. For instance we could hook this up to a heads up display unit and miniaturize it. It could be used for Heads Up Displays in attack helicopters, Racing, Private Jet Aircraft. It could be used to read your airspeed on landing in a corporate jet. It could be used on the space shuttle to read out altitude, speed, heat, angles on re-entry. It could be used on Docking Maneuvers of spacecraft boarding the ISS. It could be used for pilots landing on aircraft carriers. It could be incorporated into night vision systems, combat Army tanks, gun sites. We could use it for satellite controller ground stations. It would work for UAV tele-robotics. Tanker ship navigation in channels, Heavy equipment crane operations, Sea World, teaching in simulated environments. Prisons, funny farm or drug rehabilitation facilities. Schools, universities and technical training learning places.

It would well in Virtual Reality Environments, Augmented Reality, or even video games where you turned your windows into elements of a 360-degree sound system. The possibilities are endless. Think about it.

Older C-130 Hercules Aircraft Problematic

We have certainly seen around the world many Lockheed C-130 Aircraft, which have had problems over the last five years. Many of these aircraft have in excess of 100,000 total time airframe hours on them. The British lost on in Iraq, one crashed in Germany. Several have been lost fighting fires. The USMC lost one and the USAF lost one. Many of the older A, B and C models have been committed to moth balls, but many are still being flown as we need them, they are superb work horses and capable of unbelievable feats. The newest versions of the C-130 are hardly the same aircraft with many new features, engines, airframe enhancements fan blade style props and a completely redesigned wing; thanks to NASA and Lockheed research and development. Luckily my brother is a USMC pilot in command on a C-130 and he is able to fly the newer versions.

It is the older aircraft that are the problem. After reviewing the NTSB data on Fire Aircraft, I am concerned as many with the older aircraft fighting fires with these birds and the brave men who love to fly them for actually very little money. Here is some interesting information on this matter, which tells about plane crashes. If you will remember the Forestry C-130 plane crashes, those were older C-130s and they had been modified. and the NTSB knows there can be a problem this aircraft had over 20,000 flight hours total time on it and Borate which use to be used before phoschek and now the newest firefighting chemicals are very corrosive. In 2000 it happened again in France.

These older C-130s and the older fire fighting aircraft have super high time airframe hours on them and recently it was discovered that the wing spar boxes on these aircraft with high time airframe hours were the weak component bringing them down. The British C-130 was claimed to have been insurgents although no one knows for sure. The issue now is when can we retire all these older C-130s and replace them with the newer redesigned versions with all the state of the art components developed by NASA and Lockheed? The answer is probably not this year or the next as we are cutting back expenditures in military budgets presently. How do you feel about our aging fleet of older C-130s and their great service to our Nation? Isn’t it time to say thanks and retire them, they have done their duty, they’ll get their check, it is the new generations turn to start paying into the system. Think about it.

Post Nasal Drip and Nasal Sinus Congestion Will Transform a Case of ‘Normal’ Breath into BAD Breath and ‘Bad’ Breath into Horrible Breath!

Bad breath is very closely related to post nasal drip, excess mucus, sinus problems, your tonsils, and tonsiloliths.

In my book “The Bad Breath Bible” I discuss how the bacteria which causes bad breath and sour/bitter/metallic tastes are anaerobic, meaning they live without oxygen. The bacteria’s goal in life is to break down the proteins in foods that we eat. However, under certain conditions, they will also start to break down the proteins found in post nasal drip.

Therefore, those people who suffer from post nasal drip, sinus problems, and other such ailments are more prone to bad breath and lousy tastes in their mouth. The anaerobic bacteria uses the post nasal drip mucus as a food source and starts to extract sulfur compounds from the amino acids that make up the proteins found in all this excess mucus.

Scientifically, the anaerobic bacteria that cause bad breath “love” the amino acids Cysteine and Methionine. These amino acids are the building blocks of the proteins that are found in post nasal drip, and can even be found in dairy foods. In fact, most people notice that when they drink too much milk or eat too much cheese, they end up with more mucous or phlegm in their throat. This is a natural reaction for many people and unfortunately, ends up causing more bad breath and a lousy taste in your mouth.

If you still have your tonsils, you may be harboring a higher number of the bacteria which can lead to an “interesting” and very often misunderstood phenomenon, called TONSILOLITHS. Literally translated, they are “tonsil stones” produced by the conglomeration of post nasal drip mucus draining down the back of the throat, and the volatile sulfur compounds created by the bacteria. These bacteria easily end up in the “nooks and crannies” of the tonsils every time one swallows. I can’t tell you how many stories I’ve heard from my patients who asked their dentist what these objects were, and more often than not the answer was ‘food particles’. This couldn’t be further from the truth!

What can you do if you suffer from post nasal drip, excess mucus, and sinus congestion? There are essentially only a few different routes that you can take:

1. Use medication and or drugs to dry up the sinuses and prevent post nasal drip mucus buildup - all the while being careful to avoid a dry mouth, a likely side-effect of virtually all antihistamines. Dry mouth is the most common initiator of bad breath because it mimics an anaerobic environment, perfect for the “bugs” to pump out volatile sulfur compounds. You should be careful about using any antihistamine too frequently - many are habit forming!
